Activities are the programs you offer to serve your community. People in the system are called participants because, through your efforts, they “participate” in the activities you offer. Thus, accurately setting up Activities in the system is crucial.
Here is a list of potential activities.
The Activities section is where the services related to participants are created and managed. There are multiple types of Activities. These include:
- Scheduled - activities with a regular schedule and can have a roster of those expected to attend.
- Unscheduled - these activities don't have a schedule, and the participants vary from one event to another.
Here is more information about each type of activity.
Scheduled Activities are scheduled for specific dates and times. Participants can sign up ahead of time and be expected to attend, or the activity can be a drop-in type activity with no pre-event signup. Enrichment activities like chess club or robotics are examples of scheduled activities; they are activities that staff are planning on offering at a certain date, time, and place, and plan to record who attends. See the Creating Scheduled Activities article to learn more.
Unscheduled Activities are activities that are not scheduled for specific dates and times; examples could include Drop-in Counseling or Drop-in tutoring. Recording the date and amount of time participants are served in such activities helps tell the story of how you serve your community. See the Creating Unscheduled Activities article to learn more.
